A workover is that the process of maintaining, repairing orenhancing production from a well through various means. Most workovers requirethe assembly tubing string to be pulled from the well by the workover rig so asto repair the defects which will be causing sub-optimal well production. theassembly tubing is inserted back to the well once the defects are repaired. Insome cases, a workover is performed so as to hold out hydrofracking andacidizing.

The following are common workover tasks that we perform.

• Subsurface pumping. Subsurface pumps are required withinthe overwhelming majority of the onshore oil producing wells in India. Thesepumps have a finite life and are routinely replaced, on the average , every12 months
• Remedial cementing. Frequently, cementing operations areadministered on existing wells to shut off water or unwanted gas production.
• Tubing replacement. Most workovers require the assemblytubing string to be pulled from the well. As a result, production tubingmust get replaced as a part of the workover process. Well cleanout. Thisentails the removal of debris, sand, scale and organic materials from a wellto enhance the flow of hydrocarbons to the surface. Many reservoirs producesand that's not carried to surface by the flow of hydrocarbons duringproduction. The resulting accumulations can decrease production and arecleaned out periodically.
• Re-completion. Downhole completion hardware is exposed tomaterials like corrosive water, sand, scale, tar which may clog and damageequipment.
• Re-completing a well may mean extracting the hardware andrepairing or replacing it, partially or in its entirety. Alternatively, asdownhole well conditions change over time (as a results of increased levelsof watercut, for example) or as technology improves, different tools couldalso be used or artificial lift hardware could also be employed (such aselectrical submersible pumps).
• Wells are often re-completed in several zones toreinforce production. Additional perforations or re-perforation. In certainoilfields it's possible to perforate additional intervals in hydrocarbonbearing reservoirs to extend production rates. In other reservoirs it'sgoing to be possible to re-perforate an existing perforated interval thathas become closed.
